Plakat betta fish is a short and chubby form of betta splendens. There are various kinds of betta fish; koi betta plakat is among them. In the western world, another name for betta plakat is Betta splendens, or Siamese fighting fish.

These fishes also include some untamed fishes which are dramatic, but these have an unmistakable physical resemblance to their other fierce forms.

Origin of Plakat Betta

Betta plakat fish originates from the Southeast Asian region, i.e., Indonesia. Malaysia, Thailand, etc. The word "Plakat" in plakat betta is a Thai word that means biting because they can fight with their other counterparts, especially when two male betta fish are placed together in a similar tank or bowl.

There are some other names for plakat betta fish, which are as follows:

As Plakat betta fish is much closer to their other ferocious forms, they are similar to female betta fish.

Variations between the Plakat betta and beta splendens

Some physical distinctions, i.e., the shape of the head, quality of fins, and shape of the body, are visible in these two. As far as the condition of their head is concerned, the leaders of betta plakat are conical, giving them a more aggressive appearance, while other forms with long fins have elegant chairs.

There are also some betta plakat which are breaded for their exquisiteness rather than their power. For instance, Crown tail betta plakat, Halfmoon betta plakat. Such forms of betta fish have trails that are fan-like. These trails are either extended to 180 degrees, thorny, or round-shaped.

Another difference between the simple betta fish and wild plakat fish is their quality of fins. The fins of plakat betta fish are tiny and rotund. Due to their fin structure and quality, it becomes difficult for other fishes to bite beta plakat fins. Compared to some simple betta fish, which contain longer fins, plakat betta fish have regular fins.

Plakat betta fish also differs from simple betta fish in body shape. Plakat bettas have round-shaped bodies and are stouter, while ordinary betta fish are slim and tube-shaped.

King betta fish

This variety of betta fish is mostly considered oversized or massive due to its name, but this is a misconception; the size of king betta fish is the same as that of a regular betta fish. However, these can lengthen in their measurement, i.e., 4-6 inches.

Apart from betta splendens, these are often considered betta imbellis. These are also bred for trade, i.e., ornamental trade. This is also a fighting fish, but a less popular one than betta splendens.

Talking about their temperament, male king bettas are much more hostile and can attack other bettas, including female bettas.

King betta fish, either male or king betta female, is a crossbreed with other varieties of fish. For instance, mahachaiensis betta fish, splendens betta fish, and smaragdina betta fish for producing such colors that are usually not present.
